Communities and Organizations

These are some of the arts communties and organizations that I have helped create.
organism: making art with living systems Organism was, at various times, a mailing list, website, and blog for/about people interested in biologically-based art.
ArtBots: The Robot Talent Show I'm the director of ArtBots, an annual international art exhibition for robotic art and art-making robots.
dorkbot: people doing strange things with electricity dorkbot started in New York City in 2000 as a place for people doing strange things with electricity to get together and talk about their work. Since then similar meetings have sprung up around the world!
music-dsp mailing list I started the music-dsp mailing list (focusing on musical digital signal processing) in 1996 as a graduate student at CalArts. It's been active for many years now, and has thousands of subscribers from around the world.

It's important to be direct: Our family supports social justice and environmental organizations like the ACLU, Accion, BLM, City Harvest, and WWF.
